I have been living in my current privately rented property for over a year now.
In my previous property (also privately rented) the landlord signed the lease along with me on my first day and gave me a copy along with all the relevent paperwork for the council tax applications.
This time I have had no lease, no information regarding the council tax - in fact nothing has been mentioned or given in writing besides you pay for your own gas, electric, telephone and internet as you require it and the rent is £XXX a month.
Just wondering how this goes with the council tax as I would be more than happy to pay it but refuse to without a lease to know where I stand yet the landlord is refusing to come across with it after almost a year of asking for it.
No need for the cheek! I am asking because there is no lease stating council tax bands or who is to pay it as in my friend’s lease it states her landlord will pay the council tax!!
Anyway as a full-time student I have discovered I am not eligible to pay it!
