northern leasing

A salesman pressured my wife to forge my signature onto a contract after I told him no to the deal.My wife is diagnosed for manic depression and is on the drug Ambien and does not recall anything. Who is responsible for the contract? The company Northern Leasing Systems, Inc. says I am, even though I did not sign anything and was against the contract to begin with. The salesman had my wife sign my name after I had left to go somewhere else.I had notice on Rip-Off.com there has been alot of complaints against Northern Leasing System, Inc.

The contract should be void because your signature was an act of forgery.

The medication may be a defense, but the forgery is the best one I can think of. Get a lawyer and go for it!

The signature was a forgery? then take it to court and have the contract tossed. also, any court will toss out a contract if it’s proven one of the party’s was of diminished mental capacity at the time of signing.

I would think the contract is void because it is a forged signature. However, the court/state may force you to press charges against your wife too since she is the one that forged it. Her meidcated state may or may not be a defense.
