I need help! I live in a really bad neighborhood, and I signed a lease that is way too long. I need a security system ASAP, but I cannot come up with the installation fees (nearly $600), and the offers with the small installation fees require a three-year contract, which I clearly can’t sign because I’m moving out as soon as my lease is up.
Does anyone know any short-term monitoring companies, or any that lease equipment short-term?
As an alternative, are there any theft deterrants that actually work? I have a dog, but she’s no use. I have “Beware of Dog” signs up, but still people bang on my door. What about those “instant” alarms, like First Alert has with magnets, or door hanger alarms? Is there anything out there that I can get that will work ASAP?
Also, I can find all those instant products online, but don’t know where to walk into a store and find them. What kind of store sells those products?
